I have a '97 Dodge Ram 1500 sport pick up. It has a 5.9 liter/360 engine and about 120,000 miles.
I was in an accident last winter and after it was repaired, I noticed that the temprature readout was showing a 0 all the time. However, the compas was still working.
I am wondering what happened. The accident was on the front right side of my truck, so that leads me to believe that it is up in that area somewhere and was damaged. Do you know where it is and how and how much to fix it?

Test the coolant temp sender. Turn ignition on, disconnect the temp sender connector. run a jumper wire from the connector to a ground. IF the gauge reads high now, replace the sender. If not we can gor from here.
