Problems with fuel milege

I have a 1990 dodge PowerRam 150 4X4 with 135,000 miles on it. It has a 360 Block V8 Engine in it with a 750 Edelbrook Carburator on it. No matter what I do it gets 8-10 MPG. I put smaller tires on it and my mechanic put smaller valves on it from a strip kit made for the carburator. We added a Multiple Spark Discharge Box for more power and milege. I have replaced the distributor, wires, and plugs. I need more ideas what to check, change out, or add to it. Please help.

Sorry buddy, but with that big of an engine, with a carb, you have to expect very low gas mileage! You can try a cap or a bed cover, or even drive with no tailgate if it is legal in your state.
Big trucks with big engines suck a ton of gasoline!
