Loosing oil pressure

I have a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 v8 magnum. I just bought it used and it drove and acted fine for the first 2 days, then today when I turned a sharp corner, the oil pressure went to 0 the low oil light came on and valves started ratteling.
I cut the engine and checked the dip stick. It showed plenty of oil. I started the engine and everything was fine until I turned another sharp corner.
Everytime the same effect the same results.
I am thinking faulty oil pump, but not totaly sure.

You could be on the right track with the oil pump but before you invest the time and money into that headache you might want to try giving the truck an oil change with a new filter and the correct grade oil.

I have seen mechanics and /or shops use a heavier weight oil to hide a more serious problem like a bad valve train. Also a clogged oil filter can cause the problem.

Also check the oil sending unit/sensor

These are some pretty simple things to do and check that MIGHT save you time and money

Good Luck,
