When I am driving and come to a stop my oil pressure gauge drops but when I start back up it comes back up to normal. I was wondering what might be causing this. It only does this when it is in gear. In park the oil pressure gauge reads normal.

Weak pump, increase tolerances, or faulty gauge?

Hello, I'm Danny.

That seems to be about normal. I've attached a picture below showing oil pressure specifications for your Dodge Ram. It shows 6 PSIat curb idle and at 3,000 RPMs between 30-80 PSI. Always be sure to use the correct oil viscosity when changing your trucks engine oil. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
