2001 Dodge Ram No Oil Pressure

Lost oil pressure on gage ( engine lifter noise started ). Replaced oil pump and oil. Still no oil pressure ( continued lifter noise ) What could the problem be? Clogged engine oil veins, or something else. Were a one vehicle family with no transportation for the holidays. Please help.
