this didnt happen until i pulled out of the car wash. tried to start it but it was acting like the battery was dead. so i got a jump and it cranked over but didnt start like normal. chugged and then died. now it starts but dies immediately after i let off the key. it stays running if i push the throttle but the rpms slowly decrease and it dies. this is the 5.9l magnum gas engine

I will assume the battery is good. Has the check engine light come on? Have you checked fuel pump pressure?

Let me know.

Well the battery acted like it was dead so I jumped it. It finally fired but died just as fast. Haven't checked for pressure but it does act like a fuel problem. No check engine lights or indicators. I do have to crank it for a few seocnds now. Before it would fire up like it was brand new.

I need you to have the battery load tested, and if you can. remove the alt and have it bench tested. Most parts stores will do it for free. If the battery is really weak and not getting anything from the alt, the engine will shut down. You may also want to fully charge the battery to see if it runs.
