I have a 99 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport. Will not start. Changed plugs. Checked spark. Good. Check fuel. Good. Even tried starting fluid. Has roughly 140 compression. Had an extremely cold night last night. Turns over fine. I don't know what else it could be. Please help.

Hi razzor1772, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation and selecting us as your auto repair site. Feel free to ask questions at anytime-Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2010

Turns over fine, Good spark and tried starting fluid still no start-Do below to verify the fuel and spark something has to give

Disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, cap and rotor /distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, ECM, Ignitor camshaft and crankshaft sensors- Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it

If I had a fuel problem, wouldn't it have started (even just for a second) when using starting fluid or, dropping a small amount of gas directly into the throttle body? I only checked one wire. I am going to go now to check some others. Checked cylinders 1, 3 and 6. All fired the way they should.

If the ignition system is working properly it should fire up for 1 sec or so when injected with starting fluid/gas

Is it possible that the spark it too weak? Even though I'm getting spark that it isn't "crisp" enough?

Weak spark is orange kind of color-do you have this? Has spark but still no start -check the valve and ignition timing could be off
