Running and changing fine, parked to pick up child from school took off and it stays in first gear. I haven't checked Vacuum hoses yet. Too hot to touch, letting it cool off. 2.5 hours later, checked vacuum hoses, fluid levels, all under for a loose wire. Nothing. Now the speedometer has stopped working, (and may have before and hadn't noticed upset with no shifting) ABS, Brake and check engine light all untried clearing all by unhooking the battery. Hey, check engine light is off, others still on! Drove 1.5 miles to AutoZone, no scan code. Oops, my bad, unhooked battery. Dang-it! Okay, now what? Work truck. No truck, no work! Btw I am already broke enough, can't afford this to happen right now! Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Update for those who may have this problem and need somewhere to start! As I previously had stated I had cleared the codes by unhooking the battery. So, I had no codes to go by! Shot in the dark was to start at the cheapest point which was the Speed sensor located at the driver side of the tail shaft on the transmission $17.99. Woot! Changing gears now! But the speedometer still not working, and the check engine light came back on, and the ABS and Brake light is still on. Checking the codes is now showing to check the Vehicle speed sensor, which I am assuming is located at the top of the hog head still checking this to make sure and will update as I figure it out! I am also assuming at this point that this is the sensor for the speedometer, going to find out though.

Hello,

On this vehicle the speed sensor is located on the rear axle hub. Faulty speed sensor can impact the way the vehicle shifts.

I have attached diagrams for anyone looking for the procedure.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
