i just bought this used truck, its lifted with oversized, the truck shakes like it is not getting enought gas but only does this around 40-65 mph, when the transmission is in O/D. the rpm's fall below 2000 and then if i give it gas the wobble goes away.

part two is the instrument cluster, rpms and mph flucuate all over and sometimes go out for a few moments. the abs/brake light have stayed on for a while and now out. any ideas?

Okay, we need to start with the basics since this isn't a stock vehicle. Are the tires properly balanced? Have you checked for a bent rim? Have you checked u-joints? As far as the ABS, have you checked for broken or damaged wires to the sensors on the wheels?

As for the tach, does the engine flucuate with it?
Let me know

wheels are balanced, rims ok, new u joints, i checked the abs sensors, they are connected and no open lose wires.
at the moment the truck is idling at higher rpm's then drops to normal.
as far as the engine when running the engine isn't surging.
i understand i am going to have a decrease in power due to the tires, but the shaking feels as if you are driving a manual in 5th gear at 10 mph. but as soon i give it more gas and increase the rpms it goes away.

i just drove it 10 minutes ago and it keeps shutting down now. i looked up some info and it is saying ecm?

It sounds like an engine miss. Has the check engine light come on? Based on your description, I understand now what you feel.

the only thing on at the moment is the abs and brake light. also the odometer flashes "no bus". when all the guages go dead at once. they then start working after a moment or two.

You nailed it for me. The "No Bus" indicates there is no communication between the PCM and its components. Check wiring to the PCM. Make sure the harness is tight and clean with no damage to the pins.
Let me know what you find.
