Took the battery and alternator off and changed them but still can't get the truck to start or idle without foot on the accelerator. I am having the starter pulled to be checked also checking batter and alt. this morning. Ran and Idled yesterday stopped at mom's then wouldnt start.

Welcome to the forum, when the problem occurs, are you saying it cranks good but won't start, or it won't even crank?

Are there any trouble-codes?

so it will start when i hold my foot on the accelerator and idle as long as i give it gas (but it drags) . Also i know the speed control sensor is bad and i need a new o2 sensor but no new codes. I bought the truck used over the weekend and expected some minor issues but now I am stumped. I thought it might have been the Alt or Battery but both tested at Oreillys just fine so I am working on getting the starter off to have it tested.

If the cranking rpms are good, I don't think the problem is the starter. How long since a tune-up? Maybe you need to clean the throttle-body and check the idle air system.
