1997 Dodge Ram V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 1997 Dodge Ram sport. We have replaced the alternator, battery and the truck won't stay running. If you jump it off and leave on the jumper cables it will stay running. Once you take them off it dies. The generator light did come on. What could this be?

We have replaced the battery and the alternator. Both are fine. This was done on Friday and Saturday. The dealership is saying the o2 sensor and that doesn't sounds right. I have been reading on this forum and it sounds like maybe the voltage regulator. Since that is in the computer that sounds expensive. Would that also cause the generator light to come on?

If the field generation is not being controllled by the computer the alternator/generator light will show as an indication that there's a problem within the charging system, alternator/battery been replaced that leaves the computer control of the alternator field generation
