I was wondering what the labor on replacing both heads on my van without parts would be.

Is the $1,000 for labor only? If so then I would say that is too much. In order to replace the head gasket then you have to dissamble the engine down to the heads so there is nothing left to do at that point then to remove the heads. So the estimate I posted above may be off by about $50 to $100 but for removing and installing both cylinder heads on your vehicle it should only cost around $500 - $600. Please remember this is LABOR cost only.
