Running lights and instrument panel lights do come on but headlights do not. If I pull back on the bright light lever the headlights do come on. Does this indicate a bad headlight switch? How do you replace the headlight switch?

Chances are the headlight switch is bad. Here are the directions I got for you:

1. Remove the cluster bezel. The headlight switch is retained by 3 screws-1994-96 Pick-ups. Depress the button on the switch housing, then pull to remove the knob and stem-1994-96 Pick-ups

2. Remove the switch retaining three screws. Remove the switch and bezel from the instrument panel.
3. Unplug the two harness connectors from the headlight switch.
4. Pull the headlight switch knob and stem out to its stop. Depress the button on the bottom of the switch housing, then pull to remove the knob and stem from the switch.

To install:

5. Install the knob and stem into the switch.
6. Plug in the harness connectors, then install the switch.
7. Install the instrument cluster bezel.
