i was working on the inside of my truck and a screw fell in my cigarette lighter and started smoking so i hurried and pulled the positive battery cable off the terminal. i hooked it back up once i got all the smoke out and now my truck wont start. i know the battery is fine because everyhthing else turns on it i just turn the key and get nothing. tried jumping it but that did nothing.i dont know what it could be?

That is interesting because it should have blown the fuse and it really isn't tied into the starter. I need you to check something. Have a helper turn the key to the start position while you check for voltage to the smaller wire on the starter. You should get 12+ volts. If you are, remove the starter and have it checked at a parts store. If there is no power, check the starter relay, and then move back to the only thing that makes any sense to me, the ignition switch.

Let me know what you find.
