i have a 1989 dodge d100, a couple of days ago it stalled while i was driving on the highway. it wouldnt restart. i recently changed the fuel pump(4 months ago) cap, rotor, plugs, wires( 1 month ago) i just changed the fuel filter, pvc valve, some of the rubber fuel lines( today). the truck turns over, but doesnt start. if i spray starting fluid directly into the carb it starts until the fluid is burned up. carb cleaner has the same results only it lasts maybe a minute longer. the engine is the v6 w/ holley carb( not sure of the model# it is a 2 barrel) im not much of a carb guy, all of the other cars ive owned have been fuel injected. im kinda at a loss. i do know im getting fuel to the carb. any suggestions? thanks in advance.

If it won't start at all, it's one of two things. Either the fuel isn't making it to the carb, or the "Needle and Seat" are stuck shut and not allowing the fuel to enter the carb. Remove the fuel line at the carb and see if it is pumping fuel. If it is, remove the top of the carb. The float will attach to a needle valve which is inside the seat. When the float raises, it pushes the needle into the seat and stops the flow of fuel into the carb. Check it for dirt or corrosion.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.
