Electrical problem
1988 Dodge Ram 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 88 Dodge Ram. I've and trouble a while back with the fuel pump. I would be driving down the road and it would begin to lose power and giving it gas didn't help. I replaced the fuel pump and filter and that fixed that problem. Now I am having problems starting it and the truck dies randomly when Im driving down the road. I replaced the computer and that fixed it for a day. Now when it quits i can mess with the relays on the inside fender and it causes something to short and the compressor and something else clicks and it will start and go until it quits again.

WHen it stops, are you loosing fuel pressure? If relays are making it run again, I question the wiring to the fuel pump relay. Check the wiring to it and the if the relay is corroded.

Let me know what you find.

We had replaced the fuel pump relay already. The fuel pump works so we have fuel pressure. We have no fuel injection and no ignition though. I can plug and unplug the main terminal off of the battery with the key on and it will crank sometimes.
