I have a 2000 dodge darango 5.9 litter it has about 80,000 miles on it my serpinteen belt keeps getting worn out on the edges so I took the belt off and checked all pullys the fan is rocking back and forth theres a good inch of play what does this mean? Do I need a new water pump its not leaking or could it be the fan clutch and how do you remove the fan clutch and pully so I can get to the water pump?

Where is the play at?
It could be the fan clutch or the water pump. If the water pump is not leaking it is most likely the fan clutch. To remove it, you need a special spanner wrench and a large wrench. I purchased these as a set (they were actually for a Ford) to replace mine.
You can also loan these wrenches at Auto Zone.

Whichever it is, check it out ASAP and repair it so that it doesn't cause more damage and also leave you stranded.
