How do you adjust the parking brake?

When I apply the parking brake, it fails to hold the car securely. I've had the brakes themselves adjusted. I believe the problem is too much slack in the cable that connects the e-brake handle to the brakes (when you apply the e-brake, there is very little resistance). Do you know how to adjust the e-brake cable? I've read verious posts online that indicate its a difficult process and many dealers don't even know how to do it. Thanks in advance for your reply.

How do you adjust the parking brake enough to get the rear rotor off the axle and bearing?

You need to put the parking brake system into lock out mode. To do this, remove the center floor console. With the lever in DOWN position, pull up on the core cable rotating the drum until the drum cut-out aligns with the hole on the lever tabe, then install a punch in this hole and drum cut-out. Release the grasp on the core cable and the parking brake will now be in lock out.
