1999 Dodge Neon timing

The timing belt broke. We replaced head and timing belt. Still can't get to start. It seems to be in time.

Are you getting spark and fuel to the engine? Will it fire with starting fluid?

There are several possibilities, and more information would help. Here are a few possibilities on the 2.0 C code Dodge Neon engine.

1. It is an Interference engine, so it is possible you bent the valves. This is most likely in your case.

2. Melted the ground connection on back of head. There are two.

3. Timing positions may need to be relearned. Need a scanner with bi-directional controls for that, such as the Snap-on MT 2500. Not always necessary.

4. Broken cam shaft, see No. 1.
