My son has a 98 Dodge Neon. Thought starter was going out, had the classic, hit the starter and it would start. Problem came up in last few weeks. So we replace the starter, get starter all the way installed and it does nothing. Like no power gets to it at all. I hooked up juice to the old starter and it seems to run / engage fine. What else could it be? What can I do to troubleshoot now? Fuse is fine.

Power will come from the battery, through a fuse box if equipped and to the starter. The secondary source will come from the ignition switch when you turn your key. The best way is to chase down the power loss from the two sources to find out where there is a loss at, most likely a fuse/relay or short. First inspect the relay. Starter motor relay is located in power distribution center, under hood.

Post results of relay test and I will follow up.
