i was driving home yesterday and my car stalled at a light. i turned the key off and back on and it started. got 3 miles down the road and no noise or warning,it just stopped running. coasted into a gas station. i got a jump from someone and it started again. after we took off the cables i put it in drive to leave and it died as soon as i let off the brake to hit the gas. pushed it home and took the battery to get it charged.brought the battery back and it started right up.after it started i took off the ground wire from the battery to see if the altyernator would die but it stayed on. the lady said the battery was "good" but should be replaced. so i figured it was the battery. went to buy a brand new battery today,brought it hme installed it,car wouldnt start. wouldnt even crank. just clicked. tried to jump it and it just clicked. any ideas
