I just bought a "beater"neon. It has a pretty good oil leak, and when driving after about 10 minutes smoke comes out from underneath the hood(once in a while thru the vents). The temperature gauge runs normal, and the radiator cooland is full(the overfill container is cracked and therefore not used, but when the radiator cap is open it is full of coolant). Could this smoke be from the oil leak burning off or???

Hi there,

have a look around the exhaust and see if there is oil staining, more than likely this is what is happening, wash the engine down & repair the oil leaks first.
