2005 Dodge Magnum stalling

Sometimes I will eccelerate, the car seems like it bogs down with no power. I use mid grade gas but I think it might be the catalytic converter.

Has the check engine light come on? Also, can you hear a hissing or rattle from the converter? Finally, check to see if there is good back pressure from the exhaust system.
