A/C Compressor not working

I own a 95 Dodge Intrepid V6 3.5 24 valve with 120,000 miles on it, All of a sudden the compressor died on me, i've already tried to refill with R134 but as soon as the hose is hooked up and I start filling the line I hear a hizzing noise coming from the front of the engine. The first time I tried it the compressor kicked in but went out again about 10 seconds later. I then tried to use a leak stopper and a dye to try to detect if there was a leak but I wasnt able to find anything, now, I checked the fuse relay in the engine compartment and the relay itself seems to be working just fine, however if I bypass the relay and just connect 2 of the terminals with each other by using just a regular cable the compressor kicks in.

Any advise will be greatly appreciated. I live in the state of Illinois and temps up here are reaching triple digits.

Thanks.

I have the same problem right know. There are 2 sensors on your a/c lines. There is a low pressure sensor and a high pressure sensor. They are dealership only for about $110. What they do is break the electrical current if the pressure in you a/c compressor gets to high or to low. The a/c kit is called a transducer kit. I have the toggle switch right know. I think that has been causing me problems. Those relays have 5 prongs for a reason. Also make sure you get your coolings hfans tested too. Mine burnt out after I started using that toggle switch. Buy since I have done all that, it is working good know. I thought I had to replace my whole system, which I did do before I was told all the stuff I told you. If you have any questions you can reach me at mik770@yahoo. Com. I am not on this page alot. Make sure you put intrepid in the subject line. Take care. Let me know if it works
