Transmission problem
2003 Dodge Intrepid 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 2002 Dodge Intrepid 2.7L with over 120K. Noticed sluggish operation of transmission last month. Moved car 20' to push snow and left car to run while doing so (approx. 20 minutes). Tried to move but would not go into gear. Checked trans fluid and it was foamy pink. Radiator shows no sign of foreign matter. Is there a seal or something that may be allowing water to get in? We noticed the sluggish action of the transmission a few times at the begining of winter when we would take off from a stop. Since then it has been parked and only moved a few times. It is getting warmer out know and I am getting motivated to look into this problem. Any ideas.

Hi th ere,

As I don't know these cars all that well, we don't have them in Aus, I will advise of what to check as best I can, firstly if the trans oil cooler is integral of the radiator this may be leaking, but you would have a sludgy build up in the radiator as well, the pink frothy oil may be aeration due to very low oil level, check that the level is correct, I would also recommend a trans service by a trans specialist as they will be equipped to test for any faults that may be in the transmission.
