Engine Mechanical problem
2002 Dodge Intrepid Engine Size unknown Two Wheel Drive Automatic 824000 miles

I just bought a 2002 dodge intrepid. everything is almost perfect on it. except today while speeding up on the highway after hitting a certain speed the Check engine light came one. i haven't taken it to Auto zone yet but plan to today. ALSO. the front right tire makes a horrible thuddish should when i go over the smalledt crack, whole or anything. I asked around and i know several other intrepid owners have had the same problem. they say i need to replace the sway bar link or something. Do you agree? I'm broke after purchasing the car and can't afford expensive repairs at this time. PLEASE help me if you can.
