I have a 2001 intrepid se. I had no prior problems with the car. While I was driving the car statrted to make a little noise and so I pulled over and checked the oil which had been over filled and made sure I had enough coolant. The car started and while I was driving the car began to skip and then it shut off, the check engine light came on for 10 seconds and went off. After about 2hr the car started drove about a quarter of a mile and cut off. It turns over but won't start. What could be the problem?

If you would pull a spark plug wire off and put a screwdriver in the end of the wire and put it near metal (like the valve cover) and crank it over do you have spark? If so then I need you to find the fuel pressure test port (looks like a tire valve on the fuel rail) have a rag handy and remove the plastic cap and slightly depress the valve (Keep you face clear) and see if any pressure comes out. It should have about 40 psi here so it should want to shoot fuel out. If it only trickles then it is a fuel pressure problem ie fuel pump. Let me know what you find.
