Computer problem
2001 Dodge Intrepid 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My check engine light came on. I ran a diagnostic scan and received code P0601. Int Memory Control Bad Memory Check Sum. What does this mean and how can I fix it? Is there a problem with the computer itself or is this a relatively easy repair?

Does this mean the computer is bad? I have always known the computer as the ECM. You are referring to a PCM, are these one in the same? If not, where is the PCM located so I can replace it? If the computer itself is bad where is it located on the vehicle?
Thanks,
Brian

yes, the computer is faulty. ECM and PCM are one in the same . electronic control module or powertrain control module, both refer to the vehicle's computer. it is located on the left side of engine compartment.
