Hi

My car's engine light is on and when a reader is used to determine the problem it states that the problem maybe the catalytic converter or the oxygen intake valves.

After talking with a mechanic who listed the usual noises of a bad catalytic converted i don't think that it is the problem.

I think a leak in the vacuum system is the problem.
How can i make sure it is a leakage in the vacuum system and not the catalytic converter?

And how can i get it fixed?

you will need the use of a scan tool that a repair staion has because you will need to watch the sensors when its running to determine if its a vacuum leak, o2 sensor or faulty converter. unfortunately there is no fast fix
