My 1999 Intrepid suddenly stopped shifting one day. I was driving about a mile from home and it shuddered and felt like the brake was on. I looked at my gauges and my speed was staying at 0 when I was really going about 30 and my car just kept revving up instead of shifting into a new gear. Now the engine light is on with the code 0700 which said EATX controller DTC Present. (Another site said Transmission codes in TCM) Any help with this topic?

Hello,

Here is the code def I have...

P0700 Transmission Control System Malfunction.

Which could be either the transmission computer or the Input(Turbine speed) and Output Shaft Speed Sensors. And since your speedometer quit working I would say that its the input and output sensor. I would chang them out anyway they are only about $40 for both of them. The computer runs about $300.

Here are the locations....
