Hello, I was wondering if you were able to dawn some light on whats going on with my old girl. So when the car has been turned off for a while I noticed that when I turn it on it starts fine however whenever the engine changes gears when accelerating or slowing down it will stall. I rev the engine and you can hear it reving up fine but the car doesnt go anywhere, After a few seconds of reving it kicks in to gear and begins to run normal. This happens a few times for about the first 5 minutes or so, but after the engine heats up it doesnt happen again till the car has been off for a few hours. Does anyone know what the problem is and what I can do to fix it?

Hello -

To better assist you please tell me if your model is just the Intrepid or the ES. Also the engine size in liter and the 8th digit of your VIN.

Please go to Auto Zone (AZ) or O'Reilly's (OR) and for FREE they can pull the codes to the car. Most important: Once they check your codes, if they find something and you don't get it fixed and need to get back with us, please make sure you tell us exactly what the code was, number and all. Example, if the code was E0568 O2 Sensor bad. Then make sure you give us all of that. While there for FREE also they can bring their tester out and check your battery and alternator.
