The engine over heats. Fans come on after several minutes during warm up. I have been told that it maybe a head gasket issue. If that is true would I not have oil in the water or water in the oil? I do not have either. Any suggestions

It depends. I had the same problem with my 94. The problem with mine was the gasket between the inner and outter intake manifolds was leaking. I know it sound dumb but there is coolant running between thats where the thermostat is located. I have the 3.5 if you have the same motor I would start with the therm and then check the intake gasket. Let me know what you find out
