1991 Dodge Dynasty safe mode on transmission
Transmission problem
1991 Dodge Dynasty 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic
the car some times will drive normal switch threw all the gears an every thing an some times wont go over 35 mph, when ever it wont go over 35 mph while the car is in motion if you take an put it in neutral shut it off then start it back up an drop it back in drive it will go throuh the gears like it should

If you have an overdrive transaxle this is called limp in, it stays in 2nd. This transaxle was made to do this so any failure would not cause you to tow it or ruin the unit. Most transmission repair shops and dealers have a scan tool that can read the codes that are stored by the transmissions controller called a TCM, it needs servicing, this is normal when something goes wrong, ok justin
