Electrical problem V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

While driving I felt something hit my feet when I pulled over I noticed it seems like some sort of sensor. I am not sure exactly what it is or where it was connected only that it was under the the driver side dash. I have included a picture to see if anyone can identify this part and tell me how to reconnect it.

Ok I am looking to see what I can find but I must ask is there anything different with you truck like a light on or engine light on or? Other then the number on the plug in that I can see is there any part numbers on the part itself? Get back to me and I will do some research to see what I can find okay.

(UPDATE CHECK THE POST BELOW)

There are no lights on, and there is no additional numbers other than those shown in the picture. At one point I noticed the little center piece usually rises when the car starts and I had originally thought it had something to do with the airbag, but I am not certain.

This is the shift interlock solenoid that has broken and you need a new one this happens when people try to pull it out if gear without their foot on the brake.

Here is a diagrams to show you how to fix it (below)

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
