2000 Dodge Durango TUNE-UP

I have a 2000 dodge durango, which needs a tune-up. It's eating gas like crazy, shaking somewhat, it's a little lounder than normal. Currently I can not afford/don't have to money to get a tune-up so I wanted to know if there is something I can buy to put in my car to make things a little better until I can get a tune-up.

Hi,
There really isn't anything to take the place of a tune up. However, the engine being louder concerns me. Have you checked to see if the catalytic converter is plugging? That will cause loss of power, rough idle, and a poor fuel mileage.
