There is a billowing "mist" with a strong antifreeze smell coming in to the cab of my car, through the heater/defroster vents. What could this problem be?

Suspect faulty heater core, behind dash. When a heater core fails it will allow coolant to be blown in as a very light mist into the cabin causing a strong smell of coolant as well as a filmy substance on the windows.
