Leaks in transmission coolant line after radiator replaced

Stumped! Replaced radiator after diagnosed leak. Trying to replace 2 coolant hoses to base of radiator and can't get them to not squirt out ATF fluid when in gear. Horseshoe clips were removed when I took off lines, and one broke when I replaced them, because I had to straighten them first to slide over female end of hose with the fitting on base of radiator. Rebent them with needlenose to hold on snug, but one side broke, so it's not as tight, BUT I'm still SQUIRTING fluid. Everything I've read says to "take off hoses and put on hoses". Not working out so easy. NAPA doesn't have replacement clips, Dealer says they would have to replace entire lines, back to the tranny. $70 each just to buy. Your talking to a single mom hear who likes to do my own repairs. Local repair shop offered no kindly advice. Any ideas? My (mechanic) brother's computer didn't even show clips. Replacement radiator (new) didn't come with clips either. Thanks for any and all help.

You can try installing fittings in the radiator for hose to slip onto and cut the hard line a little ways back and use 5/16 hydraulic hose and clamps to connect them
