check engine light code, just bought truck today,please help

hi there i have a 1999 dodge dakota sport v6 4x4 and my check engine light is on,when i put the code reader on it, it brings UP THIS CODE PO138, first bank second sensor. what does this mean? can some one tell me were it is and what it does because the truck runs great, thanks so much just, bought the truck today

Its telling you you need an O2 sensor on bank #1 and the 2nd sensor on that bank
bank #1 is the side where cylinder # 1 is and the sensor is after the converter

I just replaced the same O2 sensor for the same error code reading. Post catalytic converter. Fixed the problem for me immediately. Good luck and hope this fixes it for you too!

i have a 1996 1500 sport with a 5.2 runs great but the check engine light is on. i check and po138, 141, 441 all show up. all refer to the same o2 sensor. i replace it but the stupid check engine light is still on and the same codes come up. what the !@!#$ do i do now???

P0138 Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2)

P0141 Oxygen Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2)

P0441 Evaporative Emission Control System Incorrect Purge Flow

did you check the fuses
check wiring
replace o2 sensor

try a different brand
