97 Dakota doesn't start right

The starter works, engine turns over but will not start at time can someone help, it also over heats when idling, it has 400,000km, I thought it might have been the injectors but I changed them

Alot of things might be
you say its over heat do you have compretion !
Do you have spark is the fuel pump working
power on injectors
crank sensor fuel pump or relay
