2002 Dodge Dakota No start

Tried starting my truck today and put key in the ignition and it keeps clicking as im trying to start it the radio comes on and the dashboard lights also the battery voltage is at low and keeps going down till the left, how can i test the alternator

It sounds like the battery may be bad. Can you recharge it? Can you get it jump started? If you can, you can take the truck to a nationally recognized parts store and they can check both the battery and alternator. Also, most do it for free, so there is no money out of pocket.

Chances are, the battery is shot.

cleaned my battery terminals it was corroded, but it i just cleaned them awhile ago, the truck starts now and the battery gague reads at where its supposed to be at thanks for all the help
