The wipers come on randomly by themselves going down the road. If I wiggle the key in the ignition switch I can get them to gom off, but they don't stay off for very long. Sometime it might be a day or two before it happens again. Turning them on and then off dosen't help. Is it in the ignition switch or maybe a bad wire in the steering column?

There is a short somewhere. It could be in the steering column, but chances are it is in the switch itself. Have you had the switch checked?

No, I haven't had the switch checked. I was needing a place to start looking as I don't have the money to take it somewhere. I had the truck in to the dealer a year or so ago for a factory recall in the steering column and I was wondering if maybe they pinched a wire when they put it back. But, whatever the reason, I guess I'll have to take it apart. Thanks.

I hate to say it but that is the best thing to do. That way you'll get a look at things and what may be wrong. If you have questions along the line, let me know or if you need pictures, schematics. I'll try to get them for you.

Thanks for using 2carpros. Com.
