This trucks engine runs great, starts great untile I make full right hand turns,at which time the engine shuts down in an instant. If I pop the clutch while still rolling, and reve the engine a little it comes right back.If it stalls to a stop,it is very slow to re-start.I sometimes have to wait for more than a few minutes before it will re-start. If I hold the gas peddle to the floor and crank it for 20 or so seconds it will often start.

Have you checked for trouble codes? I believe in 96 you can do it at home. Try this and let me know if it works:

Cycle the ignition key from of to the run position 3 times. The 3rd time let it in the run position. THe engine light will begin to flash. You need to count the number of times it flashes. Each code will be a 2 digit number. The light will flash, have a slight pause, flash again, then have a longer pause. It will then continue on if there are more. The last code will be a 55 indicating it has finished.

Let me know what codes you get. Remember, you don't turn the key to the start position, only the run position while cycling.
