hey guys i have a 96 dodge dakota that wont start.I know the timing chain is good.it has spark.i sprayed some engine starter in and it still wont fire.I remember when i replaced the fuel pump it would at least fire off when i sprayed engine starter.so i dont think its the fuel pump.i cleaned the idle control that goes into the throttle body.i have know idea what it could be.if it has spark and you spray some ether it should fire off.what gives please help thanks alot Mike

You are right. With starting fluid, it should start if it's in time, has good compression, and good spark. When you checked for spark, were you getting a good hot blue spark, or did it look more white?

hey Joe thanks it was a good blue spark.i will try a new dist cap this weekend.what do you think about the crank sensor/ thanks again Mike
