Engine misfires & stalls at startup. Happens intermittently. Sometimes if you "gun" it while cranking it will go ahead and run. Sometimes it will not fire at all. If you try to drive during it's episodes, it will only go about 15mph.

Seems to happen more in hot weather, but can happen in winter also.

Do you have a check engine light and when was the last tune-up?

For a start check the fuel pressure, coolant temperature and throttle position sensors-

Last tune up was 2 weeks ago - no difference.

Check engine light comes on about once a month while normal driving then goes out on its own. When checking the codes, the last fault is null. t one time a snap on scanner caught a map sensor fault, but that was 2 years ago.

The problem has been going on for about 3 years now. It never happens while in the shop.

Check the exhaust for restriction, for an open EGR valve and retest the fuel pressure. Also scan the computer for code/s.
