Our dashboard controls for the heater/air/defroster are so stiff you can't slide them over.

The blending of cool to hot is cable controlled so either the door the cable moves is stuck, or the cable is no good. I have not seen a lever on the control panel become stuck but There is a first for that because of its age, but I doubt it is anything but the cable or door in the heater box. Ok The cable is held in with a clip that is part of the cable near the blend door.
