my break lights do not work

I have a 1996 Dodge Caravan and my break lights do not work at all I have went and checked the fuses and everyone is working I have tail lights but not any breaks lights.. I need to find out what I need to do to get them working before I get Hit in the rear end by another car I hope you can help me out a.s.a.p

check the brake light switch behind the brake pedal. It could have beeen disconnected or faulty. Also make sure your bulbs are o.k. one of the filaments in the bulb could be blown.(because they could have two/one for regular lights and one for brake lights).
