How hard is it to get at these bulbs that light-up your dash gauges, does the whole top of the dash board need to be taken off? Or, can I simply remove the gauge lens plate (without breaking it) and somehow get behind those gauges to replace the burnt-out bulbs?

Thank-you so much for your time and effort!

Hello
Thanks for the donation.

You will have to take apart the steering column bezel along with a few other components around the gauges, but you will not have to remove the entire dash. You can not get inside of the gauges from the front so removal is necessary for bulb replacement. For detailed instructions on removing and installing the gauge cluster, just let me know if your vehicle is equipped with the electronic transmission range indicator or the manual transmission range indicator (this is the letters D,R,N,P etc.. for gear selection).

Ironically I just had to remove mine from my vehicle to replace the engine light bulb, hehe.

Hope this helps..

This is what I did to my van.
2003 Grand Caravan Sport. This works well if you have trouble finding the PC74 (bulb and base together) and just repalce the bulb itself. Also works well if someone wants to use LED lights in place of original lights. Lets you seperate the base from the light bulb itself without too much trouble.
