2001 Dodge Caravan Electrial Problems -- 4 cyl

I own a 2001 Dodge Caravan (4 cyl) that has some mysterious electrical problems. Two week ago the headlights started coming on and off, and the speedometer fully rotated all the way around. I took it into my local Dodge dealer and they didn't find any special codes. They reprogram the BCM and all appear fixed. Today the speedometer rotated back around and all of other guages fail to work. Ten minutes later all of the other guages started working again but the speedometer is stuck behind the peg at zero. Any suggestions? It appears that it may be a BCM module which appears costly to replace? Can I fix the speedometer myself? Are there other modules that may also need replacing. Unfornuately this van has already been in the shop a few time with a new transmission and AC unit over the last 12 months. Is it time to look for a new van? It only has 84000 miles on it. Please advise?

The time to get into a different one would have been before the a/c and transmission. Ah but hindsight is 20/20. You don't have to go the the dealer BTW. Need to find out the problem beofre anything. The caravans get some serious long term miliage, so I would vote for keeping it. Very well may be the BCM, need to get it tested. Speedo may be part of the symptoms.
