1998 Dodge Caravan bad timing belt

I have a 1998 Dodge Caravan with a 3.0L engine. A mechanic told me the timing belt was bad, no prob. But im also hearing that this engine is a INTERFERENCE ENGINE. I need to know for sure so i know what all i have to do or rather or not its worth fixin w/o replaceing the engine. Thank you very much if you can help

put new belt and start
thats the easy and cheep way now
if you have a valve damage then you have to do a valve job
