1997 Dodge Caravan oil light comes on and off

i just bought the van and after i changed the oil the oil light comes on and when you hit the gas it goes off till you let your foot off the gas then it comes back on what are the reasons behind this and what are the possabilitys that it is just the oil pressure switch and not the oil pump?
